Avi. files on ares?

does anyone know why i cant play avi. files on ares? You can hear the sound but no pictures comes on. I'm trying to put the videos on my zune but whats the point since there are no pictures showing anyways and a majority of the best video files are avi. files. can anyone please help me diagnose this probem?
